Rain Country Resort, Waynad

2 nights stay at the Rain Country Resort in Waynad.
Not sure if it was worth the cost. The resort is surrounded by beautiful mountains, forest and plantations. But the over all service was not upto the mark. Here is a quick review and some beautiful pics:

Pros:
Scenic view
There are mountains on all four sides of the resort with thick trees.
All the cottages and rooms have beautiful view
The rooms are spacious with king size cots and beds.
Food is good.
Both veg and non veg are served. I am a vegetarian so I can't comment on the quality of the non-veg food.
Coffee, tea, breakfast and snacks are part of the package.
The chef was very friendly. My little nephew was with us. They cooked additionally for him without any fuss.
The food was served generously with a smile. I liked the helpers around. Friendly people. Kudos.
The roads from B'lore to Waynad are in good condition. It was a smooth drive.
We pass through the forest area so the air is fresh and nature is beautiful

Cons:
The room hygiene was not upto the mark.
The path from the main road to the resort was risky...unless you are skillful enough to handle it. The path is extremely narrow and steep on the edges. It would be best to inform the resort contact person to send a driver down to the school gate at the main road to drive you up the resort and drop you back to the same point
There is no pool as falsely mentioned on their website. Its a natural pond. With algae, water snake and lots of fishes. So no swim suit required....I mean you cant swim in that pool.
Indoor games....Again a wrong term....only one game: Carom
Outdoor game!!! No idea.
Children play area....its all rusted.
You have no options to go out to any restaurant. So the 3 different packages offered are fake. You have to eat only in the resort. The kitchen in the resort serves only buffet so no option to order and eat. So make your bookings accordingly.

Nevertheless if you are looking for a relaxed weekend....just watch the beautiful nature....this is a good option. We felt 2 nights were are also too long....so I suggest, don't even think of week long stays. You will get bugged and frustrated.

You may try Kerala Ayurvedic Massage. Might be good....but depends...no assurance...
