ಬದುಕು ಜಟಕಾ ಬಂಡಿ, ವಿಧಿ ಅದರ ಸಾಹೇಬ, ಕುದುರೆ ನೀಂ ಪಯಣಕೆ. 

ಮದುವೆಗೋ ಮಸಣಕೋ, ಪೋಗೆನ್ದಕಡೆ ಪೊಗು.

ಪದ ಕುಸಿಯೆ ನೆಲವಿಹುದು ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ||

Life is a Horse driven cart, Fate its owner
You're the horse for the journey
Tread the path as guided: Towards marriage, or towards graveyard
If the step fails, you will have the earth beneath to support.
